I heard just the other day that glorifying God doesn't mean adding glory to Him, as if our little deposit could somehow enhance what is already there. It means making His glory known. Much like you can't enhance light, but you can reflect it into the darkness.
Things are going well here in Colony, KS. I'm still alive, still preaching, still learning a TON. God has been very kind to me especially in recent weeks, allowing me to watch significant spiritual growth and openness take place in a little prayer meeting, allowing me to learn about all kinds of stuff through preaching through Romans and through relationships, and most importantly (for me personally) allowing me to begin a dating relationship with a wonderful friend for whom I care very deeply. Her name is Erica Martin, for those of you who don't know, and she is beautiful inside and out. God continues to mold both of our hearts through each other, and it has been a wonderful time of blessing and growth. There's a lot more to the story, but I'll save that for when you see me in person. So that means you need to stop by my place in Colony!
It has been so long since I updated, I don't know if anybody else is still out there reading this, so I may be talking to a computer. Drop me a line if you are still out there, okay? Or call me. My home/office is 620.852.3200.
Look forward to hearing from you! Mark

Well, I was to preach a funeral at 10 in the morning. I'm a casual dresser for church, so I hadn't seen my suit since last funeral. I left myself plenty of time--fifteen minutes before I had to be there, I got on my suit to find a hole in a rather conspicuous spot. Front and center, if you know what I mean. It wasn't really big; I quickly thought through my options. Superglue came to the top of the very short list. I don't own a needle and thread, and my duck tape wasn't the right color. So I used superglue. It's a really good thing I didn't end up supergluing my fingers to the hole; that would have created a whole new set of circumstances. The problem was, it didn't work. Now I have a hole as big as it ever was, with the material around it stiff as a board, thus precluding any further mention of needle and thread. It's okay, I just pointed my chair away from the audience. It made a good sermon illustration.
Everybody doing alright? Drop me a line, let me know what's going on in your life!
